Please note that there may be variations depending
on the version of Outlook you are using. These
instructions are based on Outlook Express 6.0
though other versions of Outlook contain the
information in a similar fashion. |

These are quick instructions intended to save you
time.
For more information please use the detailed
instructions provided below.
The changes needed are actually quite simple.
There are two basic changes... adding "mail." in
front of your POP3 Server Name... and adding "@YourDomain.name"
after your username.
1. In the fields requiring your Username add "@YourDomain.com"
after your username.
2. In the POP3 field enter "mail."
before your domain name. (don't forget the "dot")
3. Close the Properties windows and test your mail
accounts.

Instructions |

1. Open Outlook
2. Select TOOLS then ACCOUNTS, the "Internet
Accounts" windows will appear.
(note that on some versions of Outlook you will need to select
TOOLS then SERVICES then select the account in question then
select PROPERTIES. The
window does not have the same appearance as the one below but
the functions are similar once you reach the PROPERTIES area) |

3. Select the MAIL tab.
4. Select the Account you need to modify
- see the warning above
5. Click on PROPERTIES
6. The PROPERTIES windows will appear.
7. Select the SERVERS tab |

8. Modify the "Incoming mail
(POP3)" field as shown - be sure to use the
correct Domain Name where it reads "YourDomain.com"
9. In the "Outgoing mail (SMTP)" field enter the
SMTP Server provided by your ISP. Do not make
changes if this information is already correct.
10. DO NOT use "My server requires authentication"
unless so instructed by your ISP.
11. Modify the "Account Name" so that it contains
your Username and Your Domain Name in the format
shown. be sure to use the correct Domain Name
where it reads "YourDomain.com"
10. Once you have made the proper
modifications click "OK" to save your changes.
Once you reach the "Internet Accounts" window
click close.
11. You should now be at the main Outlook Screen.
We recommend you test your mail accounts to make
sure they are working properly. This includes
sending test mail. |

Alternative setup for SMTP using Authentication |
|
You may use the SMTP Servers here at QuantumHost.
To do so enter the information in the format
shown... be sure to use the correct Domain Name
where it reads "YourDomain.com". If you elect to
use this method you MUST use Authentication... see
below.
1. If you wish to use the
SMTP Servers at QuantumHost you MUST use
Authentication. To do so click on the "My server
requires authentication" check box.
2. Click on the SETTINGS button.
3. The Outgoing Mail Server window will appear. |

4. Select
the "Use same settings as my incoming mail
server" radio button
5. Once you have made the proper
modifications click "OK" to save your changes.
Once you reach the "Internet Accounts" window
click close.
6. You should now be at the main Outlook Screen.
We recommend you test your mail accounts to make
sure they are working properly. This includes
sending test mail.
