Settings in the
GoldMine Mail Client |

Please note that there may be variations depending
on the version of GoldMine you are using. These
instructions are based on GoldMine 5.5 though
other versions of GoldMine contain the information
in a similar fashion. |

These are quick instructions intended to save you
time.
For more information please use the detailed
instructions provided below.
The changes needed are actually quite simple.
There are two basic changes... adding "mail." in
front of your POP3 Server Name... and adding "@YourDomain.name"
after your username.
1. In the fields requiring your Username add "@YourDomain.com"
after your username.
2. In the POP3 field enter "mail."
before your domain name. (don't forget the "dot")
3. Close the Properties windows and test your mail
accounts.

Detailed
Instructions |

1. Open GoldMine
2. Select EDIT then PREFERENCES then INTERNET then
ACCOUNTS
3.
Select the Account you need to modify. The e-Mail
Account Properties window will appear
- see the warning above |

4. Enter a user friendly name in
the "Account Name" field - optional, only
available in GoldMine 5.5+
5. Modify the "POP3 Server" field using the format
shown...
be sure to use the correct Domain Name where it
reads "YourDomain.com"
6. Modify the "Username" field
so that it contains your Username and Your Domain
Name in the format shown... be sure to use the
correct Domain Name where it reads
"YourDomain.com"
7. In the "SMTP Server" field enter the SMTP
Server provided by your ISP. Do not make changes
if this information is already correct.
8. Once you have made the proper
modifications click "OK" to save your changes.
Continue to click "OK" until you have exited the
Preferences area.
9. You should now be at the main GoldMine Screen.
We recommend you test your mail accounts to make
sure they are working properly. This includes
sending test mail. |

Alternative setup
for SMTP using Authentication
Requires GoldMine version 5.7 or
higher |
|
1. If you wish to use the
SMTP Servers at QuantumHost you MUST use
Authentication. To do so click on the "Advanced
Options" button..
2. The Advanced Account Settings window will
appear. |

3. Select
the "The server requires authentication" check box
4. Select the "Login/Plain" radio button
5. In the "Username" field enter your Username
and Domain Name in the format shown.
6. In the "Password" field enter your Password
7. Once you have made the proper
modifications click "OK" to save your changes.
Continue to click "OK" until you have exited the
Preferences area.
8. You should now be at the main GoldMine Screen.
We recommend you test your mail accounts to make
sure they are working properly. This includes
sending test mail.

Repeat these steps for all mail
accounts hosted here at QuantumHost. You will need
to execute these steps on all computers retrieving
mail from the QuantumHost servers... don't forget
your laptops! |
